Sandra Collée (Delft, Netherlands) creates installations, paintings, mixed media and conceptual art. Her work responds to social and political issues and is in continuous interaction with her surroundings.

Her works are a study of historical events and contemporary situations, as well as systems that bring social change.

Surveillance and reactions to censorship are investigated: like online services protecting users by tracing their internet activity; or citizens around the world, who are being fined for protesting, trying to reclaim their right to public space by using proxy methods.

Her work shows how life extends beyond its own borders by investigating the effects of global cultural interaction and the idea of Freedom of Movement. Sandra’s aims are to examine ways to help the future escape from its repeating history that has proven to be disastrous, by taking action and examining remembrance through methods of protest.
